BBC hints at iPlayer app for iPhone and iPod touch

The BBC looks like it’s preparing a dedicated iPlayer app for the iPhone and iPod touch.
In a monthly report created by the BBC detailing the iPlayer’s performance in the last month, there were two images displaying what looked like a new iPlayer app for the iPhone.
By the looks of it, the new app allows for standard streaming of BBC shows via the iPlayer as well an interactive functionality which allows users to send messages about shows. For example, one image shows a Chris Moyles show with an added button to “Send Chris a message”.
In the images the iPhone is connected via wireless so it’s not year clear whether the app will function over 3G.
