BBC loses £240,000 worth of gadgets
BBC staff lost a whacking £241,019 worth of gadgets between April 2008 and March 2010 according to a freedom of information act request. The numbers were revealed after demands by security company Absolute Software.
146 laptops, 17 BlackBerrys and 65 mobile phones went walkies from Auntie, with Absolute Software saying staff need to treat kit with more respect. It says the BBC needs to be extra careful as the licence fee pays for the tech in question.
The final cost of the lost gadgets came to £217,569 after £23,450 worth was found. The numbers come on the back of a recent report which showed a huge number of losses from government departments, with the Ministry of Defence the number one culprit.
