Nokia N900 coming to Vodafone first in January

Vodafone have revealed that it will be the first network in the UK to sell the eagerly-awaited Nokia N900 handset after unveiling the device on its website

 

TeliaSonera to offer first 4G mobile broadband service

Swedish mobile phone operator TeliaSonera today claimed the launch of the world’s first fourth generation mobile broadband service which can boast on-the-go speeds ten times fast than 3G.

 

The company will trial the 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) service with customers in the Stockholm area of Sweden and the city of Olso in Norway, in early 2010, with Finland next in line for a roll out.

EU plans volume cap on iPods and MP3 players

Apple may soon be forced to lower the volume on its iPod MP3 players with plans afoot in Brussels to restrict the sound levels amid fears over ear damage.

 

European officials claim that 10-million people in the EU restrict permanent damage to their hearing and plan to lower the max sound on all MP3 players to 85 decibels, the equivalent of a busy city street.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that was originally launched in March of 2006 and has since grown into a real-time short messaging service that works over multiple networks and devices. Twitter enables users to stay in touch and share information with each other in real time. Users can use a maximum of 140 characters per message or “tweet” as they are called. You can tweet as little or as often as you want, as long as each individual tweet does not exceed 140 characters.

For those who want to see just how many seconds remain from now until 2010, simply click on the ‘I’m Feeling Lucky’ button when there’s nothing in the Google search box and you will be shown the countdown.
